Mending Heart, Body, Mind, Soul
What if ‘healing’ isn’t about becoming someone new?
What if this retreat without bullet point take-aways opens vistas on (many) possible outcomes?
What if there is no silver bullet to wick away pain of neglect, violation, absence, unrelenting hunger, and more?
What if connecting with left-out parts of you is the route?
And yet, how and when, even if to feel pain, remains elusive. Think of loosing loved ones, shattered dreams, broken certainties, challenges to a worldview, displacement, maybe, descrying (finally) that nurturing, protection, and guidance in your childhood were sorely missing. Meeting and mending these wounds needs process imagination and skills. Most of us, alas, fall short of knowing how to mend alone.
What if going it alone simply does not work?
Bodily and emotional pain spells the preciousness of what has (and what should have) happened, was lost, and demands that we live with what is missing. Our pain is muted, relegated to invisibility, bound by family traditions, held hostage to modern cultures’ impoverished relationship with pain. Too often, we are left with a tangled ball of emotions.
Processing pain needs communal engagement, intimate companionship, and our shared breath in lament.
It requires shared respectful and ceremonial withnessing, our co-creating of space in which we practice and cultivate presence of the heart to what was never received.
This gathering is a deep dive into your troubles, supported by tender companionship, mutual support to feel all manners of anger & sadness, to share the world’s sorrows, too large to bear in isolation.
We mend frayed family, ancestral fabrics through sincerely receiving each other’s lament and despair, while participating in ceremonial practice and presencing.
We invoke systemic mending imagination, so new possibilities can disarm age-old loneliness, and importantly, we gift each other with fiercely truthful kindness.
