Why Systemic Imagination?
Why Systemic Imagination?
All humans inflict harm on one another (perpetration) and experience familial, communal, environmental, global, and universal wounding (victims). Each of us, with our complex histories of trauma, has likely occupied both sides of the victim-perpetrator equation at different times. This often intractable dynamic leads to systemic rupture, alienation, and relational fragmentation, all of which require nourishment, protection, and guidance that may have been absent in our early development.
A systemic lens allows us to examine our relational maps and understand how we are nested within a larger context. We can recognize what has, in fact, worked to help us “make it.” We can then honor the so-called “dysfunction” of individuals as embedded in and perpetuated across generations. Social, cultural, and historical patterns span time and place, and a systemic inquiry makes these patterns apparent and accessible. At the very least, we unveil the myth of “brokenness” as individual pathology. Divergence from normality and failure to achieve “wellness” are often inherited; they are not our cross to bear alone.

We thrive and flourish only within and through meaningful relational formation. Human connections teach us about becoming human. In their absence, we can find support on our journey toward wholeness from all our relations. However, humans who are complexly traumatized by others mend their wounds most comprehensively through human support. That’s where my services come in. I offer them to you in the spirit of embarking on a shared voyage—a journey toward mended hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits. We follow a path toward your dignity and relational flourishing. To be clear, this path can be rough and winding. We will invite your brain plasticity as our travel companion—a companion that is very real! Mending (yes, even the brain) takes commitment and time.
“…mending is patient, steadfast, often unglamorous work — it is the work of choosing kindness over fear, again and again, in the smallest of everyday ways, those tiny triumphs of the human spirit which converge in the current of courage that is the only force by which this world has ever changed.”

Such mended wholeness, (re)made through a systemic lens and supported by a trauma-sensitive approach, allows you to become the change enabler you likely seek to be in your family and in all forms of your relational life. Together, we will explore and discover the unique shape of this change in your life by leaning into your personal and unique creativity. Engaging with your inner world, withnessing as a matter of course, and truly participating in the complex webs of the many ecologies you are already part of will gradually foster fluid belonging.
In short, anyone wishing to address stubborn issues, supported by my transdisciplinary knowledge, systemic perspective, and decades of skill acquisition is welcome. You and I will embrace all of the above while grounding every change in insight also in your body. Relational mending to the Self, to Others, and to the world at large will gradually re-home in you what is/was frayed or missing.
Now, take a moment to imagine joining a voyage from trauma to dignity!
